Applied face foliate motifs and an ecru clay bead with Egyptian symbols front and back as the 'stone'. Note the split double shank construction. Lots of character! Approx size 7.25 Unsigned Unmarked as many Arts Crafts pieces, yet tests at least 90%. Simply marked with a "U" and an arrow for Uncas. Heavily gold plated or gold filled, though not marked as such. Well taken care of as very little if any wear can be noted. Art Deco Egyptian Revival Brass Bookchain festoon necklace with 5 oval pierced pressed red glass oval drops found at the same estate of a collector who collected very theatrical jewelry. It along with the turquoise color one were acquired some 15 years ago. This type of book chain festoon necklace ending in a decorative fold over clasp were often seen worn by Victorian women as well. Again, one can almost see this in some silent movie of decades past.....

Similar Pendant seen on pg 146 of Ettinger's Popular Jewelry 1840-1940 2nd edition. Perfect enamel and stone is in great shape with some gilt off the brass through out the shank and back.
