Similar Pendant seen on pg 146 of Ettinger's Popular Jewelry 1840-1940 2nd edition. Perfect enamel and stone is in great shape with some gilt off the brass through out the shank and back.

Vintage mid century expertly chased, engraved sombrero hat dish by well known Mexican, well listed silversmiths and signed with the maker's mark: L. Maciel; Made in Mexico; Sterling 0.925. Sanborns was the other well known maker of same. Look for the eagle and snake motifs. This is just under 6"X2&3/4" and weighs 5.6 Ounces of sterling or 160 grams on a postal scale. This ring is SOLD. "Lux et Veritas" = "Light and Truth". "Seal of Yale College". The perfect vintage gift for the Yalie Collector. This college ring is small, blue and white enamel, nouveau, and has a highly decorated figural shank. Maker's Mark of "Salman Sterling" of Boston, MA, whose 1906 advertising stated that they sold the most fobs. Only 117 women were enrolled at Yale in 1909. Very good condition, all enamel intact.
