Circa 1920 camera shy magnet reacting cut steel sautoir worthy of a jewelry museum or jewelry book and ready for the next movie. This multi metal beaded fluid flapper fringed necklace is a rare find.
Similar to the French made sautoir book piece seen on page 190 of Antique Trader Jewelry Price Guide 2nd edition which is priced higher in the book than here.
From North to South doubled it measures 18" which includes the 3" medallion pendant, yielding approx 31" around the interior. Each side is 5/8" wide.
Here the medallion's tassel fringed pendant's panel design repeats six other times in what appears to be stylized turtles, and the red copper color beads appear to be enameled or lacquered on to metal, alternating with the cut steel ones, though reacting strongly to a magnet. No picture, nor scan does this justice! Three words: Fab U Lous!
Weighs 1.9 oz or 55 grams on a postal scale and is in super condition.
